Job description

At Vention, we’re not just writing code; we’re solving real-world problems with embedded solutions. You’ll work on tech that matters, from energy transition to health innovation, building the brains behind connected products. One day you're deep into nRF firmware, the next you're debugging a board with an oscilloscope.

We are looking for a Software Test Engineer with a strong focus on software quality and verification and validation. Someone who not only writes code, but also ensures that this code is demonstrably reliable. You will play a key role in setting up and maintaining test strategies and test frameworks for embedded systems.

You will work on smart and connected products, often with strict requirements in the areas of reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance. You will primarily work on nRF microcontrollers running Zephyr RTOS, or a similar platform.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Designing and implementing testable low-level embedded software in C

  • Setting up and maintaining test frameworks for embedded systems

  • Writing unit tests, integration tests, and regression tests

  • Automating tests (for example, in our GitLab CI/CD pipelines)

  • Testing on target hardware and with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setups

  • Analyzing test results and structurally improving software quality

  • Contributing to software architecture decisions with testability in mind

  • Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and design engineers to bring products to life.

  • Take Ownership of deliverables and work autonomously within a collaborative, transparent environment.

Job requirements

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar (BSc/MSc).

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in embedded systems programming (C).

  • Proficiency in software architecture and microcontroller platforms (e.g. nRF, STM32, LPC).

  • Hands-on mentality with hardware and debugging tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.

  • Curiosity, pragmatism, and a collaborative mindset.

  • Fluent in English.

What’s in it for you?

  • Be at the forefront of creating groundbreaking new products and innovations;

  • Experience the full development cycle, from concept to production;

  • Unlimited vacation days & personal development budget as long as we can count on you;

  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly company gatherings including legendary team outings and celebrations.

  • A well-equipped office at the High Tech Campus, sit-stand desks & healthy lunches.

  • Pension scheme, commuting allowance, and access to shared cars for business trips.

Why join us?

At Vention, we combine speed, know-how, collaboration, and creativity to turn bold ideas into working prototypes and products. You’ll work in an environment where ownership, freedom, and responsibility go hand-in-hand. If you’re ready to lead our hardware team with senior-level expertise, shape processes, and deliver impactful technology, let’s talk!
